Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!
I am reaching out to introduce myself as the Principal of Holy Cross Catholic Academy. I will be joining Vice Principal Carriero and Vice Principal Monaco. I bring ten years of experience as an administrator with the York Catholic District School Board and I am excited to be part of the Holy Cross community.
As we prepare ourselves for school start-up, kindly review the dates below and other important information:

Tuesday, September 6th- PA Day – No school for students

Wednesday, September 7th – Grade 9 Orientation Day (Grade 9 students only)

Thursday, September 8th – All grades attend school
On Wednesday, September 7th, Grade 9 students will participate in Orientation Day. Grade 9 students are to attend school in full uniform to meet their teachers and participate in activities that will assist them with their transition to secondary school. Grade 9 students are asked to locate their names on the alpha lists posted in the atrium and then proceed to assemble in the cafeteria. Throughout the day, Grade 9 students will be receiving their timetable, locker information and school lock. **Students who have not paid the student activity fee will be required to purchase a lock. The cost of the lock is $10. Please see Mrs. De Luca in the main office to purchase a lock. Lunch will be provided for students on this day.
Students in all grades will attend school on Thursday, September 8th. The school day runs from 8:25 am to 2:30 pm. Students are encouraged to be at school early to locate their name and homeroom location posted in the atrium and cafeteria area of the school. All student timetables will be distributed in their homeroom. Students with period 1 spare are to pick up their timetable in the main office. Please arrive early to avoid the morning rush. Students who qualify for transportation can access their bussing information on schoolbuscity.com
It is the expectation for students to be in full uniform. Uniform items can be purchased from DGN Kilters. For those students with uniform items on backorder, schools have been provided with a list of those individuals awaiting their items. You must attend school with blue/black dress pants (no jeans/track pants/leggings) and a plain white top until your items arrive. Please see your Vice Principal for an admit slip if this has affected you.

The staff at Holy Cross Catholic Academy have been busily preparing for our return to school. It is important to reflect on the roots of our faith and our ability to call on the Lord for guidance, inspiration, and companionship. Our faith helps us stay grounded and we should continue to seek out moments to reflect on the many good ways the Lord journeys with us. It will be through our faith that we will be blessed with good health and energy to sustain ourselves this upcoming school year.
