Dear Holy Cross Catholic Academy Families,
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Academy and across all Ontario schools this school year.
The OSSLT measures whether students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of this literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
This year at Holy Cross Catholic Academy the OSSLT will be administered on the following dates:
November 27, 2023 – Practice Test for any student who was unsuccessful/incomplete/not reported writing the OSSLT in April 2023.
November 28th, 2023 – Any student who was unsuccessful/incomplete/not recorded writing the OSSLT in April 2023.
April 17th, 2024 & April 18th, 2024 – All Grade 10 students.
Detailed schedules will be provided closer to each respective date. Students can become familiar with the online test and its accessibility tools through EQAO’s online OSSLT practice test.
Students are encouraged to access the resources linked below to review & practice their literacy skills.
